If I had a spare machine so I would keep using CS5, but I don't. So…anyone know any apps that can do the above? Seems simple enough, but I haven't found anything decent. Sketch is nice, but not at all what I need…sort of wish I did UI design or something after playing with it, though, it is very nice.
I don't want to get it under the assumption that it will work 'some day', though otherwise it looks great - and great price, too. Affinity Designer can't do 1 or 2, and from reading their forums it seems these are long requested items (at least 2 is). I've looked at several apps, and I can't find anything that does the above. If Adobe sold a standalone AI I'd get it, but they don't. I don't need any of the other apps in CC, and I use AI about once a month, so the ~50USD/mo subscription to CC is a non-starter.
From what I read it is broken under High Sierra using APFS, and I won't let this one app hold me back from updating indefinitely.

I'll continue using it till I update to 13.1 (not updating to 13 yet). TBH, I love AI CS5, it works well, is easy to use, and does exactly what I need. Select similar command (line style, fill, etc) that is absolutely crucial Ability to import DWG files, and keep layers intact Ģ.

I'm not an artist, I'm an engineer that uses it to tidy up presentation output from ACAD and analysis apps (and yes, we use a Mac for this) and the like. New update to 10.13 will break it, and it obviously won't be updated (nor do I expect it to be - it is what, 5 years old?). Ok Mac Ach hivemind, I need help finding a replacement for AI CS5.
